Thank you for visiting the official website of Americus Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. I am honored and humbled to serve as the president of our prestigious chapter. We are a chapter of over 125 diverse, talented, and dedicated college-educated women working together to improve the lives of the citizens of our surrounding service area. 

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private non-profit organization founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 phenomenal women on the campus of Howard university in Washington, D.C. We are an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. We will remain faithful and committed to our Sorority’s ideals of Sisterhood, Service, Social Action, and Scholarship!

On March 10, 1990, Americus Alumnae was charted by 18 visionary members. Since its chartering Americus Alumnae has made great strides in our community to build upon the legacy and mission of the Founders of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. by developing and implementing programs in alignment with Delta’s National Five Point Programmatic Thrust to focus on:

·         Economic Development

·         Education Development

·         International Awareness and Involvement

·         Physical and Mental Health

·         Political Awareness and Involvement 

My commitment as a president is Bridging the Gap with Sisterhood. We will focus on Equipping our chapter and community with the resources and training to be successful, Empowering our sisterhood personally and professionally, and Engaging our community by implementing programs and partnerships in our service area with the help of each chapter member.
